Because I’m not very good at this new phone thing, I thought I’d take a second to check my skillz.
This is a check of the fat fingered, not-so-skilled iPhone user operating system.
This is one of the best documentaries on the issue of tolerance and civility in the discourse of Christianity in America I have seen.
Lord, Save Us From Your Followers is made by a Dan Merchant, a Christian fed up with shouting, divisiveness, and what he calls the “bumper sticker mentality overtaking America.” The result is an amazing look at what happens when you engage people in honest and personal dialogue. He interviews regular folk on the street as well as intellectual and charismatic leaders representing views on both sides of the issue of religion, Christianity, in America.
I think he does a good job of balancing two unpopular but important messages: 1) To non-Christians: “Look, Christians are not as hateful or ignorant as you think they are or as they might come across” and 2) To Christians: “Hey, the rhetoric you are using is only hurting your cause and, uh, is probably not very Christ-like.”
Man, sometimes I just gotta say:
FUCK, I HATE NOT FEELING GOOD!!!!
There, that helps.
Oh, it’s on. As soon as I can drag myself outta bed.
Meanderings, ramblings and such from a girl who has roughly 80 million blogs floating around out there.
Things I wind up thinking/writing a lot about: food-related stuffs, wine, relationships.
I blame TV and 24-hour convenience stores for my short attention span and demand of instant gratification.
P.S. I tweet too @justplainpeachy
